Admission to Hampton Wick Infant and Nursery School  2010 – 2011

We are pleased that you are considering our school for your child.

Parents/carers are welcome to complete a registration form to express an interest in their child joining our school, once the child is 2 years old. Visits to our school are encouraged. Please read on for further information.

Nursery

Each year we admit 52 children to our nursery. A morning or afternoon place is allocated; there are 26 children in each session and each child must attend the full 5 sessions per week. To join, your child must be 3 years old before the 1^st of September of the year which they are due to start. Nursery hours are 8.45am – 11.45am or 12.15pm – 3.15pm.

Nursery places are allocated to siblings of either Hampton Wick Infant & Nursery School or St John the Baptist School as a priority and then offered to those who live nearest to the school first.

Reception

We are a two-from entry school: in each year group there are two classes with a maximum of 30 children. Reception children are part-time in the Autumn Term (9am – 12 noon) becoming full time at the start of the Spring term (9am – 3.15pm)

You are welcome to register your interest for a Reception class place for your child, places for Reception classes are allocated by the Local Authority.

It is your responsibility as a parent/carer to apply for a place for your child. If your child is attending our nursery, you will receive the application details. However, parents/carers must return the forms to the Local Authority and NOT to our school.

You may apply on line. The online application process goes live late in October and closes early in December the year before your child is due to start in Reception. Please follow the link to access the online admissions form.

Open Days

You are warmly invited to visit our school. During the course of the year, we have several ‘Open Days’ when you can tour our school to see the learning and fun in action and meet the Headteacher who would be delighted to support you in these important steps towards your child’s school career. Our main Open Day will be on:

Thursday 23^rd September 2010 timed tours will be at 9:30am, 11:00am and 1:30pm

On this same day, our link school St John the Baptist is also having an Open Day so please leave enough time to visit both schools.

Mini open days will also be held on:

Tuesday 16^th November 2010 timed tours will be at 9:30am, 11:00am and 1:30pm

Wednesday 2^nd February 2011 timed tours will be at 9:30am, 11:00am and 1:30pm
